Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1
Transfer to the authorised western entry and walk to the first forest camp.
Day 2
Continue out of the forest towards Shira 1 Camp.
Day 3
Cross the plateau towards Shira 2 Camp at the guide’s pace.
Day 4
Travel via Lava Tower and descend to Barranco Camp.
Day 5
Climb the Barranco Wall and continue to Karanga Camp.
Day 6
Reach Barafu Camp and prepare for the summit night.
Day 7
Make the conditional summit attempt, then descend to Mweka Camp.
Day 8
Walk down to Mweka Gate and complete the hotel transfer.
