Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1
Trek from Machame Gate through rainforest to Machame Camp.
Day 2
Climb from the forest edge towards Shira Camp.
Day 3
Travel via the Lava Tower area before descending towards Barranco Camp.
Day 4
Negotiate the Barranco Wall with the guide and continue to Karanga Camp.
Day 5
Walk to Barafu Camp, then rest and prepare for the conditional summit attempt.
Day 6
Attempt the summit if approved and descend towards Mweka Camp.
Day 7
Complete the descent to Mweka Gate and transfer to the confirmed hotel.
