Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1
Enter through the authorised western approach and trek to the forest camp.
Day 2
Continue to Shira 1 as the vegetation changes with elevation.
Day 3
Cross to Shira 2 and use the afternoon for rest and guide-directed acclimatisation.
Day 4
Travel towards the Lava Tower area and continue to the northern camp plan.
Day 5
Traverse the northern side towards the next authorised camp.
Day 6
Continue to Third Cave or the equivalent camp in the confirmed operating itinerary.
Day 7
Reach the approved summit staging camp and rest before the night attempt.
Day 8
Attempt the summit only if approved, then descend to the arranged lower camp.
Day 9
Complete the descent to the authorised exit gate and return to the hotel.
